It's a love story, baby just say yes...

Valentines day is nearly here already what on earth?! Any who, here's a quick DIY for a cute heart bunting decoration for your room or desk or wherever you want! I want to do a little series of blog posts in the run up to valentines day including OOTD'S and diy's, what do you think?

You will need: Hot glue gun (PVA could also be useful), patterned paper printed out, pencil, scissors, needle and thread & thick paper/card

1. Using heart templates or if you feel confident, cut out hearts from your patterned paper of 2 different sizes

2. Do the same with the card (same sizes as the patterned paper with equal amounts)

3. Stick the patterned paper hearts onto the card hearts and trim them to match

4. Stick contrasting small hearts centrally on top of the bigger hearts

5. Using your needle and cotton, thread through each of the hearts on string long enough for what you need

Sorry for the poor photo quality and lighting, it got dark when i had finished this diy:(! It's such an easy diy and it can be used all year round not just for valentines day! If you try it, be sure to show me pictures or leave a comment!

Flower Beanie | DIY

Seeing as though daisy prints are really in at the minute, and autumn is growing on us, i decided to customise a beanie by adding a girly touch to it (I also had to do something/anything to it as it made me look like i should be in prison ha!)

Beanie- Primark - £2/2.50
Daisy Headband - Primark - £1.50
It was sooo easy to do and also extremely cheap!

First off i cut the flowers off of the headband, and arranged them on the hat. I went for the rolled up edge although it may look quite cute dotted all over the hat.

Once i decided on a pattern, i used my hot glue gun to add a small (smaller than a pea size) blob of glue on the back of the daisy and pressed firmly onto the hat.

It's really versatile as it can be done on any type of hat as well as different colours and by adding studs instead of flowers etc.

I took this hat to my dads with me and unfortunately left it there meaning i have no pictures of me wearing it with an OOTD or anything:( But I'm sure there will be in the up coming weeks!

Have you incorporated summer into Autumn DIY's? Are you excited for the colder months?

Cut out Heart top | DIY

If i was good enough, everything in my wardrobe would be made by me!

Hi guys, i haven't done a DIY project in months and i can tell you now.. it felt so good to chop up old clothes!

Today I'm showing you this Heart cut out top that i did the other day. It was made from a top i hated and was throwing away, and now i love it.

Its great for summer and will work well with a bandeau bra or a backless bra to show some flesh and also thrown over the top of a bikini!

Its really simple and took me no more than 20 minutes maximum.

I cut the stretchy cinched in strip off the bottom, depending on your top type, you can cut off the sleeves, cut the neck line off etc.

I used a marker to draw a heart free hand in the middle of the back. You can use a stencil or something to draw around to get the perfect shape.

Cut it out and there you have it, your very own diy cut out top!
I love mine and i can't wait to style it!:D

Have you tried any cut out diy's lately?

let's all go to asda...

OH MY, IT'S BEEN TOO LONG SINCE I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BLOGGGG!!!

I hope you are all well!

If you didn't twig from the title of this post, it's about asda.
The other evening i went to a big Asda's that's about half an hour from me, i had a good snoop around and found some bits that i wanted to show you!
Most people wouldn't dream of buying fashionable things in Asda, (i never used too, oh how wrong i was!), but if you have the time to shop in one of the big ones that has almost EVERYTHING in it from food to clothes to makeup to electronics etc.

I've recently been decorating my room on a cheap budget, it was previously black and pink themed and i started to go off that and really liked the idea of shabby chic with floral prints, so i painted my wardrobes and made some curtains (yes, made! from a bed cover) and have been getting some accessories. If you want a blog post on some of the diy and cheap decorations for my new room i have, let me know! So i went straight to the bedroom section which had several varieties, styles and coloured bed covers for such a cheap price, i was in heaven!

sorry for the creases, i literally just swapped it and got it out of its packet!
I picked up this cover and pillowcase set for £13 (king size), its white and has beautiful, almost watercolour flowers on the bottom growing upwards. The pillows are the same but the flowers take up the whole side. Its also reversible and is an orange/coral pinstripe pattern on the other side, although I'm pretty sure that would clash way too much.

I also went to the jewellery section which had a few stands of half price or sale items which i eyed up instantly. I only found 2 things as the others were either broken or i had something similar. The first being these chained collar clips.

They are silver gems surrounded by a pearl frame attached by two chains of different lengths. They were half price from £4 (making them £2) which is a really great price and they look so pretty but make a great statement with collared blouses.

And then i found these earrings which are similar to the ones i saw in Topshop a few months ago which are just these Pegasus unicorn that are supposed to look like tapers (but the cheat version if you don't want big holes in  your ears!)

They kinda remind me of the monopoly board pieces (or scene it board pieces if you know that game!) and I've just pushed them through my ear lobes haha!

And then last but definitely not least my mum found these Yankee candles (I've  never seen super markets sell them so this was definitely a must have!), they had all the sizes and about 6 or 7 different scents but this was my favourite by far and it smells amazing and its called Rainwashed Berry. I haven't tried the sampler size so i hope they are just as strong as the big jar ones but for £1 it's gotta be worth a try.. right?!

And there's a picture of the little heart cut out candle holder that I've put it into! cute or what?!

Have you found any interesting bits in supermarkets you've visited?

Easter bunny nail art! | demiDOODLES

Hiiii guyssss    :)

I thought I'd do a little 'how to' nail art post today as Ive finally found some time to sit down, relax and do some pretty nail art for myself!

I love love love painting my nails and trying out new designs and patterns, and seeing as though Easter is literally just around the corner, what better than to paint some pretty little bunnies for my finger tips. Okay, so i wouldn't call this a tutorial as i haven't taken pictures of every little detail of the design but hopefully you'll get the gist of things!

(Click on the pictures to make them bigger!)

Step 1. Paint your nails with a pretty pastel colour, for this design i chose Essie- Neo Whimsical, 2 coats and leave to dry (I chose to do bunnies on each nails except the ring finger which i put glitter on.)

Step 2. Taking a white nail polish, create a half circle shape on the top of your nail (leave enough room for your bunny ears!!)

Step 3. Using a smaller brush or by flattening the white nail polish brush, make 2 smaller lines towards your cuticles to form the ears. Leave to dry before adding the next details.

Step 4. Once the nail is dry, use a pink colour to make a small like inside the ears and two small dots for the cheeks (i used the polish i used for the background- Essie: Neo Whimsical)

Step 5. Using a black polish and a dotting tool (or a toothpick), make two little dots closer together and above the cheeks, these give the bunny some eyes!

Step 6. Next, make a very small upside down 'T' to form the nose and mouth using the black varnish. Then, using the black again, make 2 or 3 lines on each side of your rabbits cheeks for cute little whiskers (you can create these lines using a toothpick and a dotting technique, making the dots overlap to make a smooth looking line).

Step 7. Finish with a coat of your favourite top coat and leave to dry.

And there you have your cute little bunny rabbits on your finger nails!

Will you be trying this out, or maybe your own design with an Easter theme?

DIY PROJECT: aztec customised denim shorts

Hi you cheeky bunch of beauties;-)

If you follow me on twitter, you may already know that a few days ago i was given some white-ish levi's jeans.. Only problem being is that they were slightly not long enough for my legs and flared/boot cut which i don't really like, so me being a diy addict, i decided to cut them up ready for the summer..

On my computer i have a big photo album of loads of different diy projects and customising I'd like to try out as well as on my pinterest, so i had a little browse through them and remembered saving a picture of denim shorts with a tribal aztec elephant print on them and thought they would look so cute in the summer. So down i sat with my acrylic paint (if you do this i advise using fabric paint as I'm not sure if the acrylic will last!), a paintbrush, scissors, pencil and my jeans..

1. First off i marked where i wanted to cut them, folded them over and cut along the line so both legs were symmetrical

2. Next i frayed the bottoms so they had a vintage/distressed look to them using a sharp nail art tool, you can use a sewing stitch picker thing (if you know what that is by my amazing description;) ) -anything small and sharp!

3. After that i used my pencil to draw on my design so i knew where i wanted to be painting

4. Using my black acrylic paint and a thin paintbrush i started to fill in the lines i had created until i had gone over all of the pencil

5. Leave the paint to dry and there you have it.. tribal aztec elephant shorts!

I really do appologise for the bad picture quality in my posts, i have a blackberry and they are not at all known for their amazing camera quality, but i may start using my big camera again!

These are a great way to customise your favourite jeans/old jeans that don't fit you anymore etc, would be gorgeous for the festivals in the summer etc!

Hope you like my little diy project, how have you customized your denim shorts in the past? and what types of shorts will you be wearing in summer 2013?!

DIY; decorated light switch

Just a short post from me today about my newly decorated light switch. Im not joking, i absolutely love this idea and smile at my light switch every time i look at it.
It was a spur of the moment thing and it jazzed up my room in minutes haha!

It is as simple as that! not sure how long it will last but thats the beauty of it because, its not permanent so you can change it whenever you want.
Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what you think of this idea. Have you tried something out using a different pattern?

spikes and studs galore

This summer studs and spikes have wormed their way in to fashion and have had a huuuge impact on everyones statements. It seems like everyone have come to terms with the fact that not only heavy metal lovers can pull it off. Some people completely cover themselves in s&s whereas others add a hint here and there to keep it subtle but still rock it.

SHOES-

These sculpted heels have studs in their curve. Because they are already such a big statement, the studs just make them even more loveable and because they look so good people are less worried about how they would actually walk in them (they dont look too comfy)

CLOTHES-

Studded denim shorts with a quirky band top or a cute blouse are very on trend at the minute, a lot of people have taken it upon themselves to DIT (do it themselves) and stud the heck out of their clothes like me instead of spending a whole whad of money on them. The Leather jacket looks gorg with denim shorts or black milk galaxy leggings and look good with a minimal amount of studs and spikes but also look good when heaving with the things.

JEWELLERY-

Spikes on ear cuffs, choker necklaces, bracelets and rings are a must have this Summer, they look cute but also give your outfit a rockyfied edge. If you aren't daring enough to go the whole hog with the studs and spikes on your jacket or shorts, then the jewellery is for you! It looks great without looking 'over done'.

BEAUTY-

It has now come to my attention that you can buy small stud look-a-like stickers to let your nails get in with the trend. They look so cute and can also be done with nail art so you can do it yourself.

Do you like the studs and spikes trend? Do you own something with them on?
