Sunflower & Strawberry nails! | Tutorial

Paint each of your nails with a base colour of your choice, strawberries look nice against a pastel pink but i decided to use my Essie Sweet Talker, a shimmery pastel blue.

Taking a mustard yellow, if you have a nail art pen or a nail tool, in the corners or sides of the nail make half a flower shape using line strokes.

For the strawberries, using a red or deep pink make rounded triangular shapes over the nail.

Fill in the flower petal gaps by adding more or using a different shade of yellow. Once dry, create half moon shapes using a red toned brown for the centre of the flower.

To make the leafy tops to your strawberries, take a forest green colour and a thin brush. Create a small line for a stalk and continue for 1/4 of the strawberry. Make two more leaf shape lines on either side of the central line to look like draping leaves.

Add small black or darker brown dots in the sunflowers centre to look like seeds and finish with a clear top coat.

How summery are these nails?! Have you tried any sunflower nail art or added strawbs to your nails?

Easter bunny nail art! | demiDOODLES

Hiiii guyssss    :)

I thought I'd do a little 'how to' nail art post today as Ive finally found some time to sit down, relax and do some pretty nail art for myself!

I love love love painting my nails and trying out new designs and patterns, and seeing as though Easter is literally just around the corner, what better than to paint some pretty little bunnies for my finger tips. Okay, so i wouldn't call this a tutorial as i haven't taken pictures of every little detail of the design but hopefully you'll get the gist of things!

(Click on the pictures to make them bigger!)

Step 1. Paint your nails with a pretty pastel colour, for this design i chose Essie- Neo Whimsical, 2 coats and leave to dry (I chose to do bunnies on each nails except the ring finger which i put glitter on.)

Step 2. Taking a white nail polish, create a half circle shape on the top of your nail (leave enough room for your bunny ears!!)

Step 3. Using a smaller brush or by flattening the white nail polish brush, make 2 smaller lines towards your cuticles to form the ears. Leave to dry before adding the next details.

Step 4. Once the nail is dry, use a pink colour to make a small like inside the ears and two small dots for the cheeks (i used the polish i used for the background- Essie: Neo Whimsical)

Step 5. Using a black polish and a dotting tool (or a toothpick), make two little dots closer together and above the cheeks, these give the bunny some eyes!

Step 6. Next, make a very small upside down 'T' to form the nose and mouth using the black varnish. Then, using the black again, make 2 or 3 lines on each side of your rabbits cheeks for cute little whiskers (you can create these lines using a toothpick and a dotting technique, making the dots overlap to make a smooth looking line).

Step 7. Finish with a coat of your favourite top coat and leave to dry.

And there you have your cute little bunny rabbits on your finger nails!

Will you be trying this out, or maybe your own design with an Easter theme?

Nailing it this christmas!

Okay so on a happier note from my previous post about shyness and confidence (read here) i decided to show you some of the nail art i have been doing on false nails lately..

A snowflake, a snowman, christmas lights, a penguin, holly and a christmas tree! (i added a snowing effect to this picture to make it more christmassy because in case you don't know.. its 34 days and counting!!)

Here are my own nails, red and multi-coloured glitter with a super cute reindeer on the ring finger!

recently, i have also been doing friends nails to earn a little extra christmas money and I've also been learning/experimenting with acrylics/gel nails. I first tried it out on my friend, then my own and then another friend, it takes me aaaages to do them because of the amount of time they take to dry but the finished results were lush with the bright red nails and gemmed ring finger!

If you would like any tutorials or nail polish colour names etc just leave a comment, tweet me or whatever and I'll happily inform you

Have you been trying out any christmas nails, or any other designs for that matter? i would love to see some!!

GOLD! Always believe in your soul..

Yesterday i took another little trip into town (seems to be becoming a very regular occurrence lately!) and the idea was to get a few more christmas bits, I'm doing chrimbo shopping in sections and picking up little bits here and there this year, and i actually managed to pick my mum up some of the things she wanted but once again i ended up buying myself a few nick nacks and i decided to show you something that I'm really happy with..

It's very similar to my technic 'mermaid' and 'carnival' nail varnish but its from poundland!? There were blue, green and purple versions of this polish but the gold stood out for me and I'm so glad i bought it, i must admit i spent about 20 minutes in poundland uming and ahing, debating whether to buy it and as soon as i got home i painted it on top of my primark bright pink polish and its so lush. It doesn't have different types of gold in it but its got small and big rounded glitter flecks in it and its a really good rep for some high priced brand versions of glitter polishes! £1 BARGAIN!!

Another thing i picked up from poundland was this little wheel of butterfly and dragonfly nail decorations of all different colours, they are so pretty and i cant wait to use them..

They even come with a mini nail file and wooden stick for easier application! I say get yourself to poundland and see what you can find, i even noticed they sell Revlon polishes in there too!

unexpected weekend...

So, as I said in my last post I was supposed to go out for a meal for my best friends birthday but in the end it got cancelled so I ended up going to a friends 18th birthday BBQ with my parents and had such a good weekend, so if you are thinking to yourself on a Friday evening that you are bored and never have anything to do, your luck may change right at the last minute!

It started by getting up very early on Saturday morning and having 15 minutes to get packed and ready to leave for an hours drive. Once we got there we got ready for the BBQ and got in the mood for a party. The birthday girl, her mum, my mum and me all ended up being thrown in the pool several times fully clothed and it was not at all warm! It was a really good night but everyone felt it the next morning. Once we were up and dressed on Sunday, we went to someones house who has the biggest back garden ever! There's monkeys, parrots, huge turtles and loads of different amazing animals there! We were entertained for such a long time by a simple conversation of exchanging hello's and whistles from the birds. At half past 5 that evening we went Go-Karting and it was so much fun but sadly... I lost almost every time! But hey, there's always next time to wipe the floor with them all ;) Once we got home we got the BBQ started for dinner and once again I was thrown in the pool..twice, no thanks to my mum who gave the boys permission to throw me in again (I was not amused) :(. We stayed up until about 1 playing 'Scene it' and the new 'pictionary', it was such a great laugh and I had such a great weekend.

Go-Karting. Watching the Olympics. Webcam Toy with Charlotte
Newly painted nails. Primark lip stain. 16th Birthday present
OOTD (Saturday). 18th birthday BBQ. Monkey at the house.
Now I'm at home again full of cold and being assisted with multiple cups of tea! How was your weekend? Get thrown in a pool fully clothed or was the victim in something similar?
