'cos we make the hipsters fall in love

I love a good hat, from bowler hats to beanies i like the way they can add to your outfit. I don't necessarily have a 'style' when it comes to the things i wear, i like to think I'm open to all sorts of clothes and not associated to specific types. Beanies tend to be stuck on 'hipsters' and grunge styles but i think they suite all types of people!

Burgundy knitted beanie hat- £2- Primark

This is going to be a staple piece for me in Autumn and Winter, its so versatile and also comes in black and grey- you will most likely see them in pictures in the future as its more than likely i will be purchasing them all!

Thank you to everyone who follows me and comments on my posts.

Its the summer holidays now and I have so many posts I can't wait to share with you. Im gonna start saving for a new camera and will spend more time organising/scheduling/typing/editing/socialising with my blog and everyone that's here.

P.s  I love talking to people and making friends, as well as finding new blogs to read and follow so feel free to talk to me!

Cut out Heart top | DIY

If i was good enough, everything in my wardrobe would be made by me!

Hi guys, i haven't done a DIY project in months and i can tell you now.. it felt so good to chop up old clothes!

Today I'm showing you this Heart cut out top that i did the other day. It was made from a top i hated and was throwing away, and now i love it.

Its great for summer and will work well with a bandeau bra or a backless bra to show some flesh and also thrown over the top of a bikini!

Its really simple and took me no more than 20 minutes maximum.

I cut the stretchy cinched in strip off the bottom, depending on your top type, you can cut off the sleeves, cut the neck line off etc.

I used a marker to draw a heart free hand in the middle of the back. You can use a stencil or something to draw around to get the perfect shape.

Cut it out and there you have it, your very own diy cut out top!
I love mine and i can't wait to style it!:D

Have you tried any cut out diy's lately?

PS- Giveaway to be held when i reach 100 followers on my blog or 30 subs on my youtube channel!

80's style dungaree's...

Hello beauty's..

Today I've got a post on my favourite clothing piece that i own right now which are these light wash denim dungaree's.
please ignore my facial expression, my mum took the photo before i was ready!!!
Dungaree's tend to go in and out of fashion every few years and 2013 being a year that they are totally in for the spring and summer. I have been trying to get my mitts on a pair for yeaaars, i found short and skirt styles but i just couldn't settle for them and i definitely couldn't justify the £40+ price tag. I even started looking in charity shops but just my luck, i had no luck.

Until a few weeks back i was in Primark in my local shopping centre and was looking near the jeans and printed shorts section. Whilst rummaging i found myself pick up 2 pairs of dungarees, one dark wash shorts pair and one pale full length pair in a size 12, too big bit teamed with a thin belt they work really well.

I have only worn there out once and that was the day after i got them, i didn't get to put much thought into what to wear them with but i don't think it looked tooooo bad, pretty plain Jane and simple if you ask me.

Dungaree's - Primark
Black Sleeveless Turtle neck top - Warehouse (£1.50 charity shop find)
Thin Brown belt - Primark
Black Creepers - Primark

They were £17, although still a little pricey, they are totally worth it. They have a distressed rip effect to give a vintage 80's vibe but they look and feel like really great quality. The hard wear on the braces and the buttons up the side seem like they have had a lot of effort put into them and i LOVE them. Definitely a staple piece in my wardrobe throughout the next few months (i even think they will look super cute in the winter months too.)
looks like hippy central in my garden!

Will you be sporting the dungaree trend this year? If so, what will you team them with?!

P.S i now have instagram- demimcglen

and check out my youtube channel (how i style my dungaree's video to be up soon!)

Dressed up for dinner | OOTN

Well hello there!

I hope you all had a fab Easter (sorry its taken so long to say that, I've had so much over time at work and haven't had the chance!)

Okay so the other night me and my mum decided to treat ourselves and go out for a meal, we ended up going for a Chinese at about 8 and it was a last minute decision so i didn't get a chance to take any pictures before we left. We got back at about half 10 and i convinced my mum to take some for me (she was tired hence the really bad quality!)

My pastel green knit slouch cardigan is from Primark and i nabbed it in the sale for just £5!

I kept my jewellery fairly simple but went for it with the rings, the big green gem ring is from Primark and was round £2, the silver chain two finger snake rings were £1.50 from Matalan and the skull ring and cream rhinestones ring were from a pack from Primark!

The dress i opted for was also another Primark piece, its a black and white striped sailor dress with a white collar and a slight keyhole cut out at the back. I got it for £3 and think its so pretty.

Heres a picture of me being weird after running away with my mums phone, hehe...

and here's another picture of me being weird but this time, its not only that.. i also look like a hysterical seal thanks to my mum making me laugh constantly whilst trying to get some outfit pics!

For my shoes, i just wore my black creepers with frilly white socks to tone down the look and make it slightly more casual as it wasn't a special occasion.

I hope you enjoyed this post, sorry for the awful pictures!

DIY PROJECT: aztec customised denim shorts

Hi you cheeky bunch of beauties;-)

If you follow me on twitter, you may already know that a few days ago i was given some white-ish levi's jeans.. Only problem being is that they were slightly not long enough for my legs and flared/boot cut which i don't really like, so me being a diy addict, i decided to cut them up ready for the summer..

On my computer i have a big photo album of loads of different diy projects and customising I'd like to try out as well as on my pinterest, so i had a little browse through them and remembered saving a picture of denim shorts with a tribal aztec elephant print on them and thought they would look so cute in the summer. So down i sat with my acrylic paint (if you do this i advise using fabric paint as I'm not sure if the acrylic will last!), a paintbrush, scissors, pencil and my jeans..

1. First off i marked where i wanted to cut them, folded them over and cut along the line so both legs were symmetrical

2. Next i frayed the bottoms so they had a vintage/distressed look to them using a sharp nail art tool, you can use a sewing stitch picker thing (if you know what that is by my amazing description;) ) -anything small and sharp!

3. After that i used my pencil to draw on my design so i knew where i wanted to be painting

4. Using my black acrylic paint and a thin paintbrush i started to fill in the lines i had created until i had gone over all of the pencil

5. Leave the paint to dry and there you have it.. tribal aztec elephant shorts!

I really do appologise for the bad picture quality in my posts, i have a blackberry and they are not at all known for their amazing camera quality, but i may start using my big camera again!

These are a great way to customise your favourite jeans/old jeans that don't fit you anymore etc, would be gorgeous for the festivals in the summer etc!

Hope you like my little diy project, how have you customized your denim shorts in the past? and what types of shorts will you be wearing in summer 2013?!

OOTD: a bowler hat

Hey there partnerrrrs (I'm not sure why i just said that, maybe its because I'm a cowboy in disguise...)

I hope you are all as fab as can be on this wet evening! So yesterday was my schools presentation/awards evening and i got invited to pick up my official GCSE CERTIFICATES, so off i tottered with my mum and got them. I didn't know i was going therefore i didn't know the dress code so i guessed a smart casual would do just fine and so i thought i would show you what i wore

This is my first outfit of the day post therefore my posing is pretty awful so please forgive me, also the picture quality and cropping out of feet and legs is really bad but that's my mums fault hehe!

Hat-Camden market: £20
Coat- Bon Marche (was given so not sure how much)
Blouse- Also given so not sure where from sorry!
Under control leggings- Primark: £4
Ankle boots- Primark- £14

I also learnt to do fish plaits not so long ago so i decided to use a curling wand to create some loose curls and do a small fishy plait on one side-just to be different
